Western Montana firefighting costs have soared past $100 million with no end in sight for the hot and dry weather that has fed several lightning-sparked wildfires. Even with upwards of 100,000 acres having burned so far this summer, Montana's wildland crews have done an excellent job with containment and limiting property damage.
